I Stand! I Have Teeth! I Bathe!

Luke's almost a real boy now. He's practically a professional crawler and he loves to pull up and climb over anything that will stay still. At his 9-month birthday, he had four teeth. His top two are coming in approximately a mile apart from each other, so he might look even more like his mom than he already does.

Luke Travels the World

Okay, so our spoled rotten baby has now been on FOUR major trips. He had already been to Florida last March and New York City in July. In August, he hit two new continents with a trip to Rome, Naples, Sicily, the Greek Islands, and a quick stop in Turkey. You can see Luke and me and Luke and Marty swimming in the Aegean right off the island of Rhodes, and me in Santorini (Luke must have been taking the picture), which might have been the most gorgeous place I've ever seen in my life. The two later pictures are from Luke's September jaunt to Breckenridge, Colorado for our friend Tommy O'Brien's wedding. At this rate, we'll have to send him backpacking through Europe for his 1st birthday...

Hanging out at Home

We are full swing into summer break now, and Luke and I are having a great time hanging out at home together and not going to daycare. His daily routine has suffered a bit, but we're enjoying spending lots of time together, taking walks with Phoebe, and watching lots of baseball games.

Opening Day Party!

We had our 3rd annual Opening Day party, aka Last Day of School party at Lufty's Down. Our friend Chintzy won the grand prize of getting his picture on the wall with the proprietors. This year, assistant manager Luke Luft was on hand to be in the picture. Look closely at Luke's shirt - it was actually his baby gift from Chintzy and his wife Dana so we were very glad he won the prize and got the picture taken with the shirt!

Daddy's Little Baseball Player

Baseball season has started up here, so Marty is off coaching the sophomore team at East many, many hours a day. Luke and I go and keep the scoreboard and cheer them on. Go Scarlets!

Luke's Baptism

Here are some pictures from Luke's baptism. Marty wasn't too happy about him wearing a long, frilly dress, but it's the same christening gown I was baptized in, along with my brothers and sister. My mom and her siblings and even her father were all baptized in the same gown, so it had some special family significance.

McB and her fiance John stood up as Luke's godparents. Luke's cousin Gwen, my brother Tyson's little girl, was baptized at the same time, so it was a pretty great first Mother's Day for me and Alison.

4 months goes by so fast...

I've been meaning to post some new pictures forever, but since our laptop broke I've been really lazy about it. Sorry! Here are some pictures of Luke from the past couple of months. Hip Hop Baby Luke is the most recent. That's what happens when Dad gets to dress the baby...

Luke's First Vacation

Here are some pictures of Luke in Key West. He had a great time hanging out at the bar with Mom and Dad, watching the sunset at Mallory Square and wearing his #1 Hawaiian shirt.

Needs No Comb, jr.?

I didn't take any pictures when Luke was at the height of his baldness, but you can still get a pretty good idea of it from these ones. He's still go that stripe of hair down the middle, but he has MAJOR receding hairline on either side. He's also started to get the ring, with a little piece of hair over the ear, but huge bald spot above it. Of course, I still think he's the most handsome little boy ever, but his hairdo could use a little work. Fortunately, his patches are starting to fill in a little bit, and there's very short fuzz covering most of his head now.

Valentine's Day!

Here's Luke in his cute little Cupid outfit. My mom bought it for him, but he's grown so much since then that he's a little stuffed in there. Marty isn't convinced it's his MOST manly outfit, but I think it's cute and I dress him, so...

Superbowl Sunday

I love this picture - it looks so much like Luke is actually sitting beside his dad watching the game. Meanwhile, of course, he can't actually sit or anything.

1 Month Old!

Luke officially turns a month old in two days. I can't believe how quickly this first month has gone by! Here's Luke with his fuzzy new bear, Slacker. Is it possible that one day Luke will actually be bigger than his stuffed animals? We'll see...
